Events

A NationBuilder calendar lets you list upcoming events, search for nearby events, and display your events on a map. It sorts events chronologically by default. You can switch it to be by distance, and choose whether or not to show a map. You can also include a custom introduction and choose to allow user generated events with sub-menu settings, including assigning a point person to any event creators.

It also includes autoresponse emails. Read more about how to organize events with NationBuilder.

Undoing Anti-Semitism, Racism, and Other Forms of Oppression

Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM · $30.00 USD
Sid Jacobson JCC in Greenvale, NY

Please note: This training runs from 10am-4pm on Sunday, June 11th, 2017.

About the training:

In our current political reality, it’s more important than ever to strengthen our ability and personal commitment to work toward a country where everyone experiences safety and dignity. This workshop is geared toward folks who want to understand how hateful ideologies, including racism and anti-Semitism, operate in America to divide our communities. This training welcomes white Jews, Jews of color, Ashkenazi, Mizrachi, and Sephardi Jews, and their family.

This training is being organized by Bend the Arc: New York.

Workshop Goals:

(1) Deepen our understanding of systems of oppression, including racism and anti-Semitism, and how systems of oppression are interconnected.
(2) Explore how these systems have impacted the Jewish community, both historically and today.
(3) Get to know ourselves and one another.
(4) Strengthen our ability and personal commitment to advocate and organize for a more just and equal society.

The workshop will be participatory and discussion-based. Participants will be encouraged to share and listen to each other’s diverse experiences.

Tickets: Your ticket will help cover the costs of offering this training. Tickets are priced on a sliding scale. We do not want cost to be a barrier — if you need a subsidized ticket please reach out to Kayla at kglick@bendthearc.us.
