All the details are now lined up for our second alumni event in LA. Join alumni of the Jeremiah Fellowship, Selah Leadership Program, and Community Organizing Residency in LA and learn about personal ecology skills for long term movement building.

We’ll be serving up kosher nosh. Doors open at 7:00pm, program begins promptly at 7:20pm and wraps up at 9:00pm. The schmoozing and community-building will then continue at a TBD local hangout.

We have a few very exciting speakers:

Selah Alum and lifelong community organizer Vivian Rothstein will discuss key techniques for sustaining involvement in justice movements for the long haul. Vivian's inspiring career as a community organizer began more than 50 years ago as a volunteer during the Mississippi Freedom Summer project of 1964, and has continued for many years with Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy (LAANE).

Angela E. Oh is currently a mediator with CA Dept. of Fair Employment and Housing and an ordained Zen Buddhist priest. She has integrated her meditation practice into the work she does as a mediator in cases of alleged civil rights violations in housing, employment and public accommodations. She is best known for her work in the aftermath of the 1992 Los Angeles riots, following the not guilty verdict in the State’s case against police officers who were captured on videotape beating Rodney King.

Our New Southern California Rabbi-In Residence, Aryeh Cohen, will join us as well!

Come learn, connect, and engage with fellow alumni from other Bend the Arc leadership programs. RSVP to let us know you’re coming!
